Of this total, 29% was sold outside Mallorca, with the main destination countries being Germany, Japan, Norway and Switzerland.<br \/>\nThe president of the regulatory council, Sebasti\u00e0 Solivellas, believes that this gradual increase in both commercialisation and exports are a clear indicator of the good work done by the denomination of origin, not only in terms of quality controls but also in terms of promotion.<br \/>\nIn fact, the denomination of origin keeps working to ensure that the extra virgin olive oil with the Oli de Mallorca seal will become a benchmark for all Mallorcans and for those who visit the Balearic Islands in order to consolidate its presence in the foreign market as well as to open new markets.<br \/>\nIn the presentation of the commercialisation figures, the Regional Minister of the Environment, Agriculture and Fishing of the government of the Balearic Islands, Vicen\u00e7 Vidal, spoke out to highlight the efforts of the Oli de Mallorca regulatory council, which he cited as a good example for other sectors to follow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The DO Oli de Mallorca commercialised a total of 216,683 litres of extra virgin olive oil in 2015, 12% more than in 2014.
